Lust auf Farbe

Normalerweise laß ich im Januar immer noch ein bißchen Winterdekoration im Haus. Weihnachtsartikel werden zwar alle am Dreikönigstag weggeräumt, aber ein paar Zweige und Tannenzapfen, Schneehäuschen und Winterkinder bleiben noch auf den Fensterbrettern und Regalen verteilt. Aber durch den Dauerregen und der milden Luft kann ich das alles nicht mehr sehen, ich hab so Lust auf Farbe und Licht, auf den Frühling eben.



Usually in January I still keep some winter decoration in my home. The tree and all the Christmas decoration is brought in the cellar again on Epiphanias, but some fir-cones and -twigs, winter children and candle houses are still on my window sills and shelves. But not this year, I am so much longing for bright colours, flowers and open windows already. Maybe that´s simply because of the much rain during the last days, the rapidly melting snow and the tender air outside.




Trotz dem lauen Lüftchen ist es draußen aber trüb und duster und vor allem wahnsinnig laut. Es klingt, als würde eine stark befahrene Autobahn direkt an unserer Haustür vorbeiführen. Es sind aber keine flitzenden Autos und Laster, sondern das brausende Wasser das vom Berg runterfließt, hunderte sprudelnde Bäche bahnen sich über die Hänge ihren Weg runter ins Tal und Anni sind die neuen Geräusche höchst unheimlich. Unsere kleine Pfütze im Garten, die wir gern als 'Teich' bezeichnen, hat sich mittlerweile über den halben Rasen ausgebreitet und überall patscht und trieft es. Das alles ist ein bißchen beängstigend, denn all das viele Wasser überflutet die Straßen und Dörfer unter uns, kleine Bäche sind zu Flüße geworden und die Feuerwehren sind im Dauereinsatz.



Outside it is still dark and gloomy, heavy rain clouds are always darkening the sky and it´s also terribly noisy. A noise which sounds as if a motorway is right in front of our garden, but it´s not the traffic which caused this loudness, it´s the water of hundreds of suddenly appeared and very lively brooks which now are running down to the valley. That´s a bit frightening, because this is so much water and so much twigs and stones they carry with them and this all will overflow the villages on the food of our hills.

Im Haus dagegen ist es friedlich und still, diese ganz besondere leise Atmosphäre die der Januar oft mit sich bringt, als ob die Welt eigentlich noch schläft. In der Stadt gibt es schon Primeln und andere Frühlingsboten und ich konnte nicht widerstehen und hab mir ein wenig Frühlingsgefühle heim geholt. Bestimmt kriegen wir nochmal neuen Schnee, bestimmt wird es nochmal eisig kalt, aber jetzt erst mal möcht ich nicht daran denken, möcht von Blumen und Bienen und Schmetterlingen träumen.

Ich wünsch Euch allen ein schönes Wochenende, vor allem denen die unten in den Tälern wohnen, in Flußniederungen und im flachen Land: verbringt es gemütlich in trockenen Häusern, hoffen wir, daß das Schlimmste bald überstanden ist.

Inside the house it is quiet and peaceful, that certain silence and slowly atmosphere of January which means the world is still asleep. Down in town there are already colourful primulas and other promising spring bulbs availabel and I couldn´t resist to buy some. Of course, there will be more snow this winter and of course we will have another couple of very cold days, but at the moment I don´t want to think of it, at the moment I want to dream a bit of flowers and bees and butterflys.
